The Jungle Book: Alive With Magic Dining Package – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park

in Walt Disney World by

Have you experienced the summer release of The Jungle Book: Alive With Magic Dining Package at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park? This exclusive dining package will be available for a limited time.

You can reserve the The Jungle Book: Alive With Magic Dining Package for breakfast, lunch or dinner at Tusker House Restaurant, which includes an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet [Disney Dining Plan eligible] located in the Africa area of the park, or the newly opened Tiffins for lunch or dinner, which includes your choice of appetizer, entrée, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage [Disney Dining Plan eligible] located in the Discovery Island area. With either option, you must plan to dine no later than 2 ½ hours prior to your designated performance time of The Jungle Book: Alive With Magic. Typically there are 2 performances each night with the dining package offered for the first performance which begins at either 8:30 pm when there are 2 performances scheduled and 9 pm when there is only one performance scheduled.

If you chose Tusker House Restaurant, I recommend reserving your dining package for breakfast so that you will have the rest of the day to explore and enjoy the park. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park is now a FULL DAY park, staying open until 11 pm most nights with a Kilimanjaro Safaris after dark experience and other new nighttime experiences such as Harambe Parti in Africa and Discovery Island Carnivale, and don’t miss the Tree of Life Awakenings as you leave the park at the end of your day!

Now, back to The Jungle Book: Alive With Magic… The show is a dazzling spectacle with stunning effects, performers and music, a magical way to spend twenty minutes! It told the story of The Jungle Book film well, and it was highlighted by over-the-top Bollywood folly. The choreography was fun, the cast was a spectacle in and of itself, and the projections were vibrant and creatively-placed. There are so many things going on at once on the stages! It was a really entertaining way to preview the new on-lake experiences that Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park’s nighttime festivities have to offer. Overall, it was an enjoyable top-rated experience!

I highly recommend The Jungle Book: Alive With Magic Dining Package and hope you choose to experience this dining adventure on your next visit to the Walt Disney world Resort too!

*Please note, park admission is required for this dining experience. Dining package is not required to experience the performance, FastPass+ and Standby is also available.

**Please Note: The Jungle Book: Alive With Magic Dining Package and Show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park has been replaced with Rivers of Light.

A few words about a guy I never met … Steve Birnbaum

in Walt Disney World by

After my wife and I spent two days at Walt Disney World on our honeymoon, we bought a 1987 Birnbaum Guide to Walt Disney World. Why 1987…? well that was the current year.  We were enthralled by the content and colorful pages and also enjoyed reading the various insights to the World.  We spent many happy hours paging through our new found treasure and learning about the attractions we had missed and snippets from behind the scenes… and I liked the pictures.

Should we have bought the book before the trip?  Probably so, but we didn’t know it existed, and the Walt Disney World portion of the trip was a last minute decision.  Once identified though we scooped it off the shelf and devoured the content.

In that guidebook, Stephen Birnbaum’s introduction made a lasting impression on me. I can’t remember the intro in its entirety, but I recall the part that stayed with me. He talked about the excitement his wife exhibited when he mentioned the new travel writing gig for Walt Disney World. Though a seasoned traveler the idea of a trip to Walt Disney World generated a thrill about the trip that was not to be missed.

I have seen that thrill played out again and again with friends planning trips. We loaned out our Birnbaum book to friends planning trips, and purchased a new guidebook each year to read about the World updates. It became our “thing”, whether we were going to Walt Disney World or not.  It was a good way to include the kids in the trip planning and build excitement for the upcoming family vacation. We collected more Birnbaum guides without realizing we were collecting, only noticing our bounty when the Birnbaum Guide had its designated area in the bookcase. Unfortunately the 1987 book was loaned out one too many times, but it will always be the link to our first visit to Walt Disney World.

If you are planning a Disney trip, as a start The Birnbaum Guide is a good and fun place to begin.  It became a part of our family vacations and you might want to make it part of yours too.

This link takes you to a good article on Mouseplanet.com that provides some background about Steve Birnbaum.

Last, but not least. Planning is key to the Walt Disney World Vacation.  It isn’t just a place to drop in and hope for the best. Every so often you might hear reference in some Disney advertisement regarding the Keys to the Kingdom.  In my opinion, the key to this Kingdom is planning. Talk with a vacation planner I trust with my own vacations and who knows the ins and outs and ups and downs of Walt Disney World, visit my friends page Wish With Crystal. Your vacation will be better.
